عربی زبان میں دل کو قلب کہتے ہیں, اور قلب کے معنٰی ہے الٹنا پلٹنا ، قلب کو قلب اس لئے کہا جاتا ہے کہ وہ الٹتا پلٹتا رہتا ہے اس کی حالت یکساں نہیں رہتی بسا اوقات تو خطرہ پیدا ھوتا ہے کہ ایسا نہ ہو کہ دل یکایک ہدایت سے ضلالت کی طرف پلٹ جائے اس لئے حضور ﷺ نے یہ دعا امت کو سکھائی ہے ۔
يا مقلب القلوب ثبت قلبي على دينك○

"اے دلوں کو پلٹنے والے ! ہمارے دلوں کو اپنے دین پر ثابت قدم رکھ"
